Night Time Fears

Many children have a fear of the dark. Some of them are afraid of monsters under their bed.

Hannalee's night time fears...moose, mice, and snakes.

She still talks about Bob's moose encounter from last summer. For a while at bed time she would walk into her room cautiously and ask, "Moose?"

She sometimes says as she climbs out of bed, "Mice get toes?"

Then last night she had to get up to pee at 4:00 am. She was saying a word that sounded like treats (but was actually saying snakes). When I asked her to climb back into bed she said timidly, "Snakes. Ssssss." We had to look under her pillow and all of her blankets to show her there were no snakes.
