Fruit, fruit, fruit.

We had a bumper crop of fruit from our trees this year. Our old apricot tree in the front yard bore so much fruit I thought it was going to hurt it's self. I only like to eat apricots just before they are ripe, when they're hard and still a bit sour. So I didn't can them, but we offered them to our neighbors. Our neighbors, the Mennonites, came and got 10 boxes of apricots off of it! And there was still a lot still on the tree.

The tree after the 10 box picking.

We have a young apricot tree in the back. It bares the best apricots you will ever taste. Bob calls it a "plumcot" tree. The apricots are a mix between something and we can't quite put our fingers on it. They also get a lot bigger than normal apricots, about the size of a medium sized apple. This year we got a ton of these apricots too. I made jam and we each ate like 5 apricots a day.

We have a sad little peach/plum tree in the back. One large branch bares peaches. This year it was so loaded down with like 30 peaches that we put a stick under it so the branch wouldn't break. This tree also has a plum branch graphed on it. We thought the branch was dead, but it survived but didn't bare fruit.

Now we are enjoying and drying apples. Our last crop to harvest this year will be pears and we have a lot of those too. Can you dry them?

WOW! I'm really jealous. Here I am in the Peach State, but there isn't a peach tree within miles :).
