Sharing

Hannalee is good at sharing one thing...colds. And she has already shared three of them this fall. But when it comes to sharing other things, especially her toys, she becomes a monster.

For a couple of weeks she was constantly grabbing things or pointing at things and yelling,"MINE!" I would reprimand her and tell her that was not a nice word when used like that. She has calmed down with say the mine word and knows that it is not good to say it. The other day at dinner Bob was talking and in the conversation he used the word mine. Hannalee promptly shook her finger at him and said, "No, no, no." :0)

The word "mine" has now become a word that Hannalee uses when she's trying to be rebellious. If we scold her, she will some times just say "mine" not even in the right context. It's kinda like a swear word to her, she says it to get attention.

She has also become so emotional about sharing her toys. When her little friend comes over to play she breaks down crying if he touches her dolls or her trike or her train or her horse or her...you get the idea. The other day I told her he was coming to play, she quickly ran around the house gathering up things like her toy train, a baby doll, and her sippy cup saying, "Mine!" and holding them close to her. And he wasn't eve here yet.

This two year old stage is starting to wear me down.
