Our redneck lifestyle.

Don't tell Bob, but I must explain our "automobile situation". It is just too redneck not to share.

In Bob's pre-engineering years he was an auto body mechanic. He still likes to do it as a side job. Well, now that he has more time on his hands he has gone into full swing working on cars. Currently we have 8 cars at our house!

This is his limit! I gave him the ultimatum and said he couldn't bring another car home until one left. Well, he fixed a red Geo that had been in our garage for over a year and sold it. Yeah! But the very next day he brought home a 1996 Toyota. He did keep his word and hasn't gone over the car limit, but can't we go under it? :)

Anyway, apparently his cars all have their purposes. Here is a picture explaining it.

We have the Volvo (gray car by the Suburban) to start the suburban. We have the suburban to pull out the truck when it gets stuck. We have the truck to bring home more cars. And we have wrecked cars (white Subaru on right of photo) to fix our running cars.

Here is a list of cars (all for sale, if your interested :):

• Volvo (runs, just needs a steering rack)
• Suburban (runs for 5 minutes, needs to sit for 10 min before starting again. It's a good thing we live out in the boonies because it died right in the middle of the road, horizontally across. There was no way around it. Luckily we only have like 3 cars per day on our road. Honestly!)
• 1978ish Nissan Z car (it's a classic, runs, needs a paint job)
• 1999 Subaru outback (my car that I drive)
• 1999 Subaru outback (parts car for my car)
• 1995 Geo Prism (Bob's car that he drives)
• 1996 Toyota Corolla (needs a new engine, and is Bob's current project)
• Very old truck (Bob's family's truck, not for sale, looks like a beater, is a beater, but still runs like a champ)

Thank goodness for a barn to hide most of these. But in all honesty I love it! I love that Bob knows how to fix cars! (Otherwise my old Subi would have been gone long before her time, may she rest in peace.)
He saves us a lot of money and keeps our cars running. I never have to worry about noises my car makes because I know Bob will figure it out and it will be OK. He is a great mechanic and so smart! Thank you my dear husband!
