Bear Lake

Bob and I made a list of fun family outings that we wanted to do this summer. Bear Lake was one of the last ones to cross off the list, so a couple of weeks ago we made the drive. Surprisingly Hannalee did pretty well. We stopped at the Bear Lake overlook for a bathroom break. Putting Hannalee back in the car was not an easy thing. She cried the rest of the way to the lake wanting out so she could go swimming.

As soon as we got to the lake and got her swim suit on she headed for the water only to find that it was cold. She did enjoy sticking her toes in, but she refused to go in any farther.

We also brought our inflatable kayak. Hannalee was so excited to go in the "boat." She sat in her own front seat and was as content as could be.

We took a break from the water for a picnic lunch and a "nap." Well, as good a nap as you can trying to convince a two year old to lay down with you.

It was getting around 2:30 and Hannie hadn't had a nap all day. She was getting so grumpy and crying to go out in the kayak. She kept saying, "Boat! Water." So we got her life jacket on and Bob picked her up to put her in the kayak. Then she started screaming, "Wanna go!" and throwing a major fit. We tried to tell her we were going in the boat. But she kept on saying, "Wanna go!" So I asked where and she said, "home." Poor tired baby girl.

We did convince her to go out on the kayak one last time. She made it about 30 seconds before this happened:

So we packed up, grabbed a raspberry shake (because you can't visit Bear Lake without getting one), and headed home.
