Drying, Drying, Drying, Look What We've Been Drying!

So I love my new food dryer! I finally got to the store to get some fruit to dry. My dryer has a tray where you can make fruit rolls so that is what we tried. First, Hannalee and I pureed (with her baby food processor, which worked great) some strawberries.

Hannalee's job was to eat the bit of strawberry still connected to tops that I cut off.

She takes her job very seriously. Look at the wrinkle in her nose as she make sure not a single piece of strawberry is wasted.

I then cut up the left over strawberries to dry.

The inspector found some strawberries unfit for drying. They had to be eaten. (Hannalee's arms are getting so long. It scares me how much she can reach.)

Don't let this face fool you. The strawberry fruit roll and pieces turned out yummy.

Lets just say that they are a bit more sour than fresh strawberries. She did still eat the whole thing and ask for more.

We are going to have to get together sometime to dry fruit! Danny's grandma used to make fruit leather, and he'd love it if I made some! Those strawberries looked yummy!
