Hannalee At 4 Years Old

Hannalee…

So smart!—Hannalee is easy to teach because she loves to learn.  She loves doing anythings school related; worksheets, coloring, reading,writing… She knows almost all of her letters and letter sounds.  She can write her name amazingly well.  Her fine motor skills are superb. 

Talkative—Hannalee has always been a noise maker from the moment she was born.  The only time she stops talking is in her sleep (and then sometimes not then).  She loves to sing, tell you stories, and ask “how come?”.  

Demanding—Hannalee knows what she wants.  She is not shy once she gets to know a person and she will tell them what is on her mind.

Girly—This one is unmistakable all girl.  If it isn't pink, sparkly, ruffly, or pretty she is not going to wear it.  She is even giving me fashion advice.  Hannalee loves to pick out her own clothes, but also insists on picking out what her family wears.  She loves dressing Tayo (thankfully in his clothes).  But she also loves picking out my clothes.  She'll go to my closet and insist I wear my fanciest shirts even on "stay-home" days. One morning I wasn't wearing what she had picked out for me the night before.  Our conversation went like this.
         Hannie: That's not what your supposed to wear.
         Me: But I wanted something comfy.
         Hannie: But it's not pretty!

Imaginative—Hannie's imagination is well developed now. Though most of it revolves around playing house.  She's still not much of a TV or movie watcher so she doesn't know much about princesses or imaginary creatures.  But she loves to play baby dolls and animals.  I often hear her making crying noises followed by some motherly comforting words.  She even scolds her baby dolls.

Loving—When Hannalee is in a good mood she can be so loving to Tayo.  She'll do what ever he wants her too.  This usually happens first thing in the morning.  She'll go into Tayo's room before I do and say, "Good morning Baby!"  Then she'll read him books and feed him cereal. 

Book worm—This girl loves books.  When we go to the Bookmobile we check out 20 books.  They'll be read over and over for the next two weeks.  Her reading of the books is now based on the pictures and her life.

An eater—Hannalee is still a great eater.  She'll eat almost anything.  She also has a huge appetite at night.  Not 30 minutes after dinner she'll start complaining that she needs something to eat, "something healthy".
