Hoedown

Our stake sponsored a hoedown again this year. The hoedown was at a local sod farm and held inside their potato barn/cellar. The graciously let us park on their beautiful grass. (And sadly this year and last it was rainy and all the cars left ruts.) They clean out the cellar and decorate it up nicely. The food was great, and the live music was fun. After the dinner they do dancing, I even got Bob out there to dance with me.

For us it was all about the free food, but for Hannalee it was all about the dancing.

This girl likes to dance. She's got no rhythm, or super great moves, but she sure has the bob down and she can do that all night. She saw some little kids out on the dance floor, so she dragged me out. She danced a whole song then wanted to keep going. I went back to Bob, but she stayed out there and kept on dancing. Here is a movie of the hoedown. Sorry it is so dark, but the lighting in the potato cellar was bad. Notice her lovely bobbing dance (She did that for like 5 songs). Then please excuse the geeky me out dancing with her. Hannalee definitely gets her coordination and dance moves from me. Notice that she pushes me then Bob away. She told us, "Go over there and watch me."




The people around us couldn't help but smile and watch her. The next week I was at the grocery store and a lady stopped and asked, "Are you the mom of that cute girl that was dancing at the hoedown? She was the highlight of the whole thing."
