Everyone says that you take less pictures and write in baby books less with subsequent children. This is true. It is not because their first moments are not as exciting and wonderful, but it is because we parents just have less time and energy. I can't believe I've missed two months of updating on Tayo. Time is flying with this little boy. He is changing so fast and learning so fast. Most days I just want to hug him tight and never let go.
What Tayo does at 5 months:
- Gives REALLY slobbery kisses - when I kiss him on the cheek, he turns his head into my cheek with his mouth wide open. Lately he has even been sticking his tongue out to lick me. Gross, but so wonderful.
- Grabs at things - He grabs at toys, hair, our food, etc. He is getting pretty good at getting them too. Once he has them he is still not sure what to do with it.
- Eats - He's nursing less often (hallelujah!) and even tried baby rice (more on that later). He also enjoys "drinking" out of a cup though he hasn't figured out how to swallow the water that goes into his mouth.
- Giggles, squeals, coos, makes razzing sounds - Sometimes he gets going so loud, we think he is trying to outdo his sister.
- Scoots on his back - Tayo arches his back and scoots in circles or to a toy that is a little bit out of his reach.
- Pushes up on his arms - Tayo is really getting strong. He can lift his whole chest off the ground with his arms. If he could get his legs to cooperate he might be crawling soon.
