2 Month Old Tayo

(He is actually almost three months, time just slips away.:0)

Some days it feels like Tayo has been in our family forever. He is a perfect fit and it feels like there never was a time when it was just Bob, Hannie, and I. Other days it feels like I am still adjusting to having two kids; like it just happened last night.

It is amazing how Tayo went from a limp, helpless new born to a wiggling, smiling baby in just two months. His stats at two months:

13.2 lb --60%
23 in -- 53 %

What Tayo does at two months:

• Eats (a lot) -- Most days he has mastered the art of nursing. Other days I feel like he needs a refresher course in latching.

• Sleeps -- Yes, he does sleep! (A refreshing experience after Hannalee, who by the way wakes up more than Tayo most nights.) I have found the magic key for him, swaddling and a binki; he can't keep his eyes open. He takes a two hour nap in the morning, a hit-and-miss nap around 1:00, and about three cat naps until bed time (mostly in our arms, this is something we're working on). He goes to bed around 9:00pm and sleeps until 3:00am, eats, then sleeps until 6:30am. Wonderfully refreshing!

• Poops -- We'll leave it at that.

• Smiles -- He loves to give us smiles at diaper changing time and when he is one-on-one with someone. He has yet to really smile at Hannalee, but then who would when she's 2 cm from your face screaming, "Hi, Baby Tayo!"

• Coos -- He makes "goo" sounds and "ahh" sounds and sometimes will let out I high pitched screech when he's really excited. Hannalee calls these his "Happy Noises".

• Sucks on his Fist -- He recently figured out how to get his fist in his mouth. He would much rather suck on his fist than a binki. I think if he figures out how to extend just the thumb, he may be a thumb sucker instead of a binki baby.

• Cries -- Less than last month, but still enough to make a person tired. Evenings are still hard for us. He's not content and can give a good yell for a while.
